One of my favorite things to do is go on mini-adventures with my son, Lukas. In a way, I’m just as new to England as he is (right?) so we often go exploring to find places that are new and fun for both of us.
We recently went on a 4 day trip to London, one of our favorite places to visit. With Lukas being 5 1/2 now, it’s getting easier riding the Tube with him (no more buggy/stroller to lug up and down stairs, thank goodness), eating out with him (to Lukas, a make-your-own kid’s Wahaca fish taco is pretty much the same as a homemade fish finger wrap so that works), and just walking the miles and miles you tend to walk while in a big City. He can hack it.
This trip, we started with the Science Museum which was alright for him. He was probably most amused by the guys throwing little foam boomerangs around the shop but he did spend some time in the hands-on area upstairs. I have to say though, when I compare that part to what the Montshire Museum in Vermont has to offer? We prefer the Montshire!
We then went to the Natural History Museum. Why is that place always mobbed? The best bit was when Lukas wandered into the human biology/reproduction section. A few things I was like, please don’t look up, please don’t look up… whew. We maintained our innocence for another day.
The next day, the three of us set off for London Zoo. Lukas and I had been once before and loved it though you can do some serious walking in that place.
We then spent a day in Greenwich.
