PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Freelance Designer/Project Manager 2000 – present
Design and manage a variety of projects from initial ideas through to completion. Stick to timelines and deadlines. Recent work includes websites for a mural artist and a wealth adviser; logos for a start-up augmented reality company and an arts co-op; printed guides for trail running in the Alps.

Web/Graphic Designer 2005-2008
Clockwork Design Group Inc.
Designed websites and print materials (logos, brochures, invitations, tradeshow booth graphics) for a variety of clients including Boston-based law firms, high-tech companies, and local non-profits. Communicated directly with clients to ensure the work best fit their needs. Worked in a 4-person, creative office environment where I assisted in the administrative roles of estimating, organizing job files, and managing outside resources such as website developers.

Web/Publications Director 2004 – 2005
Montserrat College of Art
Designed new elements and maintained College website, created mini-sites and signage for gallery shows; Designed and managed an extensive website, 80-page catalog, invitation package, and signage for an annual art auction that raised over $190,000 in scholarship funds; Streamlined and centralized much of the print and web needs of the College.

Art Director/Designer 1999 – 2003
Public Interactive, Boston
Managed, motivated, and set goals for a three-person design department; Prioritized the day-to-day high-volume work flow; Worked effectively with technology department and made design recommendations on user interface structures; Created versatile templates for a newsroom, online pledging, program guide and other content modules; Presenter at 2002 NPR/PBS online summit.

Senior Designer 1997 – 1999
The Forum Corporation, Boston
Created website designs and online tools from concept to completion for global and greatly used intranet system; Developed screens and navigation graphics for web-based training system; Designed printed materials and corresponding web pages for marketing events and corporate communications; Traveled to London to design human resources intranet for NatWest Bank.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
Extensive Mac-based web and graphic design experience in Photoshop, InDesign, Quark, Illustrator; solid HTML, CSS, and Flash skills; knowledgeable in Microsoft Office; Able to adapt to and learn new software and technologies quickly.

EDUCATION
Recently accepted into The Golden Egg Academy’s Foundation Year to study writing for children and to complete a first draft of my YA manuscript. Degree in graphic design, Simmons College, Boston; Studied screenwriting at Harvard University Extension School.

BEYOND
Lives in England; Currently writing children’s stories; Acted as Chairperson of Egerton Pre-School in Knutsford 2013-2014; Wrote and produced a TV pilot for an original show called “Everyone’s Business”; Completed three feature length screenplays; Enjoys indoor skydiving, playing piano, playing football with my 7-year-old son, and trying to create the perfect pizza.
